Having an open house can come with risks if you’re not mindful.

FACT

Although open houses are a great way to show off a home to potential buyers, the possibility of theft or damage is there.

There are basic safety measures that can be taken such as storing valuables, medications and financial information in a secure place. You should also keep a sign-in sheet for all visitors in order to keep track of those who have come in the home during the open house. You can also ask another real estate sales representative to host the open house with you so that visitors can be escorted at all times.
