Calgary MLS Sales Increase in February From January

According to the MLS System in the City of Calgary and the Calgary census metropolitan area (CMA), sales were up in February from January 2016.
In the city, the number of sales increased to 1,127 units from the month of January which had only 765 sales.
The monthly report from the Calgary Real Estate Board stated that there was a total of 1,308 residential sales in the CMA while in the month of January, there were 888 sales reported.
All three housing types displayed month-over-over month increases in February. Detached home sales reached 691 homes, up from 467. Attached homes reached 268 sales, up from 170 and apartment sales reached 168, up from 128.
In comparison to last year, home sales continued to be slow in Calgary. The Calgary Real Estate Board reported a 6.63 per cent decrease in home sales from last February and benchmark prices saw a decline as well, a 3.45 per cent drop.
According to the board, fewer individuals are listing their homes but the number of homes available for sale remain high.
