Is there a home that could be too large for the market? New Jersey's most expensive home is 30,000 square foot and is located 30 minutes away from Manhattan. It is listed for $48,880,000.

This home was built by real estate mogul Richard Kurtz during the year 2010. The home has been on and off the market since being built. The house is located in the area of Alpine. Currently, Alpine's median listing price is $4,995,000. Just down the street from this mansion is another estate listed for $27.8 million.

The home was originally built for Richard Kurtz himself and his wife but they decided it was too much house after the construction was completed. The home was put on the market in 2010 and apparently has never been lived in.

The home also known as the Stone Mansion was listed in 2010 for a whopping price of $68 million. In 2013, it was listed for $56 million and then dropped to $49 million and today's price is $48.88 million.

Stone Mansion has 12 bedrooms, 15 full bathroom, four half-bathrooms, an indoor basketball court, gold fixtures in the bathroom, a wine cellar fit for 4,000 bottles and an extra large master ensuite that is bigger than most apartments in New York City.

According to the interior designer who worked on the home, the house has many luxury finishes. According to Terence Mack, the house has marble floors imported from India, antique French sconces, 24-carat gold trimmings in the formal dining room and much more.
