Real Estate Sales Up 12 Per Cent in Winnipeg

It was another record-breaking month in real estate sales and WinnipegREALTORS is celebrating. WinnipegREALTORS is a professional organization that serves its Members and promotes the benefits of organized real estate.

According to statistics, last month saw $460 million in real estate sales, the highest ever recorded in the city. This figure represents a 12 per cent increase from May 2015. Last month, 1,629 properties were sold.

WinnipegREALTORS president Stewart Elston stated that sales picked up steam last month and all home types were in demand including detached homes, condos, duplexes and mobile homes.

He also stated that buyers are noticing and taking advantage of one of the most affordable markets in the country. He mentioned that buyers also have the benefit of choosing from a wide array and abundance of good listings.

There were over 5,400 home sales during the first five months of 2015. The most expensive home sold during May was worth $1.65 million and the most expensive condo sold for $460,950.
