9,900 residential properties were sold last month. This number represents a 3.4 per cent decrease in comparison to 2015.
According to the B.C. real estate association, the average residential price of a home in the province increased to $663,411 last month. This figure represents a 9.1 per cent increase from July 2015.
The B.C. Real Estate Association also reported that total sales dollar volume increased 5.4 per cent during the same period to $6.57 billion.
Chief economist at the British Columbia Real Estate Association, Cameron Muir, stated that the record-setting pace of home sales is finally moderating. He also said he believed that there will be a price relief making its way.
